Post Graduate Diploma in Early Intervention
PGDEI
This one-year postgraduate diploma focuses on early detection and intervention for children at risk of developmental delays. The program trains professionals in assessment techniques, intervention strategies and family counselling to support optimal child development.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Educational Qualification: Applicants should hold a bachelor's degree in fields such as psychology, child development, social work or allied health sciences from a recognised institution.
- Minimum Marks: A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the undergraduate program is generally required.
Career Options:
- Early Intervention Specialist: Work with young children to address and mitigate developmental delays.
- Developmental Therapist: Provide specialised therapy to support cognitive and motor skill development.
- Child Development Center Professional: Assist in early childhood intervention programs in hospitals and NGOs.
- Parent Educator: Guide families in handling and supporting children with developmental challenges.
- Special Needs Preschool Teacher: Help integrate children with disabilities into early learning environments.
