Deaf blindness is a unique disability that combines varying degrees of both hearing and visual impairment.

Aakanksha is working in the field of Deafblindness since October 2005, presently working as Deafblind Regional Centre –East, which covers these states: West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, East UP & Chhattisgarh.

2. Functional Assessment/ Clinical Assessment Camp

3. Support to get- Disability Certificate/Concession Certificate/UDID Card

4. Services from Early Intervention to Informal Vocational Training in Home based Setting & Centre Based Setting

5. Therapy Support –Vision/Auditory etc.

6. Clinical Vision Assessment & Assistive Devices

7. Nutritional Support

8. Income Generation Activity Support

9. Regional Training for Staff who is working in the field of Disability

10. State Advocacy Meeting

11. Regional/ State Networks Meeting  (Abhi-Prerna, Prayaas & Udaan), Mental Health Training for Parents/Professionals/Adult Deafblindness

12. Sensitization on Deafblindness to NGOs, Govt. Officials in the region.

13. Training and Sensitization on deafblindness to medical & para-medical professionals Aanganwadi workers, Asha Workers & social activists. 

14. State-level training on deafblindness for Samagra Shiksha Educators.
